A friend introduced me to the idea of homeschooling in 2012 and after reading For the Children’s Sake by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay, I felt the Lord pulling and directing me toward this style of education for my kids. I loved the idea of pouring excellent, noble, pure, and lovely ideas into their ears through living books. I wanted our days to be slow-paced so we could go for walks and enjoy studying God’s Creation together. I wanted the opportunity to rise, walk along the way, and lie down with my kids constantly presenting them with scripture and stories about God’s goodness and love.
We still have “those days” and messes that linger as the sun goes down, but I do feel like God has been incredibly faithful in this journey educating my children at home. He called me down this path, and I have already experienced a myriad of blessings from walking down it and trusting Him.
Here are just a few ideas I’ve tried out through the years. Please leave a comment and let me know you stopped by or share a few ideas of your own. I’d love to be able to say “Hi” back to you!
