We live in the mountains west of Denver at 7,000 feet above sea level. I am a mother of three wonderful children and have been married to my blonde mountain man for 14 years. We love our life up here and enjoy being outside in the beautiful surroundings. I homeschool my kids and we have so much fun learning and growing together. I am a Jesus follower and love being in a relationship with Our Creator.I hope you enjoy this blog and that you leave it feeling encouraged. Please leave a comment and let me know that you stopped by. I’d love to say, “Hi!” back to you! πŸ™‚

  1. Your life and blog are beautiful. Enjoy! My kids are 14 and 10; we have always homeschooled and I don’t regret a day of it. Childhood goes by entirely too quickly.

    • Thank you, Theresa! That’s wonderful that you have had such joy and success from homeschooling. It does go by quickly.

  2. Hi Anna,
Just found your website and am wondering if I ask you some questions about homeschooling and Charlotte Mason. My husband, son (just turned 5) and I live in Parker, so we’re in wonderful CO with you.

We are beginning to really pursue different education options, so I’m researching and learning like crazy. I’m also seeking to not go crazy with all the options/decisions, etc, rather to keep God as my first thing, letting all else be, though may be important and of great value, second things.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

  3. Hi Aimee! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you receive direction and clarity with your schooling research.

I read a great book by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay called For the Children’s Sake: Foundations of Education for Home and School. I’ve never highlighted so much of a book in my life! It really hit home with our family’s philosophy on raising and educating our kids and helped me better understand the Charlotte Mason approach. Maybe it would be a good read for you? I wish you the best as you make decisions on your child’s education!

  4. Anna…
Where in the mountains do you live? My name is Renee; you commented on one of my posts on the SCM site about narration. I just went back to it and noticed your blog.:-) ( you referenced how you are reading George Washington with one of your children too. And that our kids are the same age.:-) Maybe that triggers your memory?)
Anyway, I am really looking for other homeschool moms, specifically CM and Christian, to just do life with. Mostly, for my kiddos.
I live in Eaton, CO…so, probably not too close to you. But, we could maybe be of support through email, phone call, and/or occasional outing. We love the moutains.:-)
Anyway, if you are interested, please contact me. 970-834-2053.
PS..I have just implanted CM into my homeschool after spending the last two years involved in Classical Conversation. So, really new to CM methods and would love someone to bounce things, ideas, troubles, etc.. off of now and then.
πŸ™‚ Your family looks beautiful! I didn’t peruse through your site too much, but I will:-) Love the trees with sap on your last post!

  5. Hi Renee! Thanks for stopping by and I’m so glad you “introduced yourself”! Welcome to the CM community. I’m so happy to connect with another CM mom in Colorado. I’ll send you an email and see if we can connect sometime. I’d love to meet you and your kids. πŸ™‚

  6. Anna…
I was looking into Tiny Tots after I saw it on one of your blogs. I was wondering what you thought of it? I am considering trying to fit this in to our very busy April…because we are studying the orchestra currently.
Renee (Hope your having a wonderful Friday!)

  7. Hi Renee! We have been to Tiny Tots 3 times over the past couple of years and love it. It is wonderful for all ages and my kids have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. My son is learning the violin so it is a great way for him to see professionals playing up close. We went to the one at the Temple Emmanuel and it was the easiest as far as parking and getting around was concerned. Have a great weekend!

  8. Anna,
Are you going to Home School day at the Capital this Friday? I started to think you might go and it would be so nice to meet you in person.:-)
If you are going, we should say hi!
    Let me know!
