This weekend I enjoyed a rare treat… a nature walk with just one of my sweet kids. My sweet girl and I set out early in the morning and were surprised to find a network of trails in the woods nearby. We enjoyed exploring and listening to the chorus of birds.
We saw many stumps along the sides of the trails and had a wonderful time looking at them up close. This one had sap bleeding from it’s fresh cut wound.
It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit. ~Robert Louis Stevenson
