Nature Study: Stumps

ns_stumps_lgThis weekend I enjoyed a rare treat… a nature walk with just one of my sweet kids. My sweet girl and I set out early in the morning and were surprised to find a network of trails in the woods nearby. We enjoyed exploring and listening to the chorus of birds.

We saw many stumps along the sides of the trails and had a wonderful time looking at them up close. This one had sap bleeding from it’s fresh cut wound.
