Nature Study: Butterflies

We recently went to the Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, CO for my daughter’s 3rd birthday. What a wonderful opportunity to observe so many beautiful species of butterflies. There many brightly colored tropical flowers to attract the elegant insects. Here are some shots I took while walking through the observation room.

Please note: I have done my best to identify these butterflies correctly. If you have any corrections or additions, please let me know in the comments below. Thanks!

  1. Beautiful pictures! We do a butterfly unit every year and make their habitats out of soda bottles. The kids love to see the caterpillars change from chrysalis to butterfly!
