This past September we started our homeschool year with lessons about Creation. You can read about Day 2 here. Day 3 was another fun day of discovering how God made our world.
Preschool Creation Lesson – Day 3
Genesis 1:9-13 New International Version (NIV)
9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.
As I was reading, I put water in a dish to show the “seas”. Then I showed them a rock when I read about “dry land”. I cut open an apple when I read the part about the seed-bearing plants. We looked at the seeds and the neat star shape inside the fruit.

We enjoyed using our apple as a stamp and using finger paint to make a picture. We also planted some flower seeds in a cardboard egg carton and watched over the next couple of months to see to seeds grow into little sprouts.
